We are currently seeking more members to join our exciting community. We own a beautiful 4.33 acre property on the Chase River in Nanaimo. The Pacific Gardens Cohousing Community envisions a neighbourhood of 25 clustered townhouses around a common building that will house kitchen facilities, a library, guest rooms, dining and recreation facilities. The complex is being architecturally designed to promote a community of spirit as well as of place.
The ocean is only minutes away and scenic Nanaimo is the gateway to nature on the West Coast. Pacific Gardens is close to downtown and the active arts and culture it has to offer. Several dozen heritage apple trees grace the property, and rich soils will create a foundation for extensive organic gardens.
We are in the process of planning and developing this project. We don't have to reinvent the wheel... there are now hundreds of cohousing communities around the world and several here in British Columbia! Active participation of our members in all stages, from concept to completion, keeps us on track, building a community that will grow with us.
Please contact us. We always love to hear from people who are interested in cohousing!
